A few signs of Spring

We got our chicks!!!!!

We got 4 total. 2 Black Sex Link Pullets and 2 Gold. They are the cutest little things and so snuggly.

Finnigan cannot stay away. "Can I hold the chicks?" "Can we let the chickies out?" "Mom, can we get them out now?" Mind you this is within 2.5 seconds!!
I think this is Billy's first experience with raising chickens also. He too is quite child-like with the little darlings. Last night, right before bed when everyone was nice and calm, we brought them out to get used to us. Billy cracked me up!! "Look, she's perched on my finger! Look, she's snuggling me and falling asleep!! Look, she fell asleep on my navel under my shirt!! Give me another, I can hold more than one!" I swear... he was just as curious as Finnigan.
I do have to note that having delicate chickies as pets helps children understand what being gentle really means!! God give me patience!

Finnigan got this from his grandfather for his 1st birthday. He is now able to ride it and LOVES it!! It looks good under the flowering plum.

These are just a few of the trees that are flowering in our yard. Beautiful!

Finnigan and I planted nasturciums (sp?) at every fence post along the perimeter of the property. Every single seed we planted is sprouting!!

Our Salad Garden

About mid-winter, when all the busyness of the holidays have subsided, I start getting the itch. The gardening itch that is! Thank goodness for cold weather crops!! I planted a few pots with lettuce, spinach and a few others and put them in a somewhat sheltered shelf by the back door.

I sowed the lettuce in a spiral pattern for asthetics. When they get full, I can thin them out and have a nice petit salad with the ones I pull. Mmmmm!!!

The Start of a Few New Projects

First we have the old chicken coop.

We took off the very loose chicken wire fence, primed and painted the fence.

Still gotta paint the coop.

Next we have the vegetable garden plot.

It was pretty dry when we got here.

Who woulda thought that there was such great soil under there!!
This was obviously not done by hand.
My wonderful husband bought us a great little tractor for Valentine's.

I had so much fun plowing the field with this little workhorse.

Billy - The Man, The Myth, My Husband

How do I narrow down 15 years of love, companionship and compatibility to a few paragraphs?

This man never ceases to amaze me!!

He is my rock, my muse, my reason for getting off my ass!! He is an extremely hard worker and a bit of a perfectionist.  He gives it his all and if its not good enough (for himself) he won't stop til he's satisfied.  If something peaks his interest, he will do everything in his power to concure it.
One of his better traits is his sence of humor. Not a day goes by without one good belly laugh.  He is so quick witted it amazes me. When in the mood, he can be quite the prankster and loves to make people laugh!

Billy on Turkey Patrol for Thanksgiving

For Valentines Day, instead of getting me flowers that may last a week, and chocolates that cling to my thighs, he will buy me an exotic plant that will last as long as I can keep it alive and something I can use. (Such as a tractor this year to plow my garden plot)

We have been through so many amazing adventures together.  From professionally racing street bikes, to snowboarding every weekend for a few seasons. We had, at one point in our lives, a nice trailer at Lake Berryessa before the government came in and shut down the lake to do Lord knows what. That was a GREAT family environment. Kids were everywhere. Friends and family would come up to wakeboard, eat, drink and have a great ol' time. We have experienced the death of loved ones, the unfortunate loss of the love from his daughter Ali, and the amazing experience of having a child.
What an amazing dad too! He can make Finnigan do things in one try, where it takes me 20 times of asking, getting mad and loosing my patience.  Every day Finnigan has to tell me that daddy is at work and will call him periodically thru the day on his little play cell phone. When Billy gets home, Finnigan does his little happy dance and follows him everywhere.

We have travelled to Mexico, taken long and short motorcycle excursions on the Harley (before Finn) and have had many adventures in our RV (and a lot more to come). We are planning a 2 week RV excursion across country.
Our newest adventure is the farm.
He is a wonderful man, great lover, and the best dad I could have ever asked for.
Ups and Downs, Ins and Outs. We are there for each other.
I love him with all my heart!
